...PHARMACEUTICAL SUBCONTRACTOR

ELAIAPHARM also constitutes a unique source of potential capacity for a pharmaceutical subcontractor company whose business is expanding exponentially.

ELAIAPHARM thus constitutes a high quality viable option for a pharmaceutical group that wants to maintain international standards of production and control.

Located at Sophia-Antipolis since 1987, Wellcome became Glaxo-Wellcome following the takeover by Glaxo in spring 1995. At the end of 1995, Glaxo-Wellcome announced its intention of relinquishing its Sophia-Antipolis production site. Patrick Mélières, then Chairman and Chief Executive of Mélières Conseil International (MCI), and 4 of the top managers of the site then proposed a management buyout in order to maintain the site's business. In partnership with Invest In Industry (3I), a British venture capital company, Patrick Mélières and his team contributed to creation of a new pharmaceutical subcontractor company: ELAIAPHARM.
